After Superstorm Light-haired there was a widespread power outage in the Greater New York tube area.Many of our members' firms were without power and running along diesel generators.Subsequently a few days, diesel became scarce and IT was difficult if non impossible to secure delivery.One resourceful AITEC member was able to secure a tanker hand truck full of diesel from a firm in upstate NY that was unaffected aside the violent storm.However, the hand truck would not bring i the aware trip unless IT was able to sell the intact tanker chuck-full of diesel.No single firm could takings so much a hulking delivery of diesel but respective firms working unneurotic were able to take delivery and keep their generators running throughout the power outage.
When a new cyber threat emerged in 2013, AITEC members mentored one another via message boards and conference calls as to how best to thwart attacks.

In 2013 a new cyber threat emerged called Cryptolocker. This was not only a New threat, information technology was a new type of threat we instantly call "ransomware". Now, several years later o, we understand what ransomware is —how to palliate the risk of infection and deal with an infection if information technology happens. Nonetheless, in late 2013 when the initial news of this parvenue threat was made unexclusive, our membership had very little experience with it and were all searching for answers. As a answer, there was a fury of activity on AITEC's message boards on the subject. A number of conference calls were organized to discuss how to treat with IT. One member was an early dupe of an attack. He was prepared with a solid IT security plan and was able to successfully mitigate the flack. He quickly volunteered to attend a dinner and percentage his experience with the group to share lessons learned with his peers. The dinner was a great success and everyone took away actionable steps to improve their information security programs.
Since inception, the AITEC Gives Back Foundation has up over $2 jillio through with its annual golf game case to benefit veterans and youth charities.

Giving back to the community is something that many people want to do but often struggle to discover a way of life to do effectively. In 2012 the Board decided AITEC should endeavor to provide a means to enable its members and industry vendors an rough-and-ready way to give back to the community. Many ideas were kicked around, but in the end it was distinct that AITEC should host a charity golf upshot. The Board reached out to its members and diligence vendors with a end of raising $50,000.
